Offering an exceptional opportunity, Carilion Clinic (CC), Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM), and the Department of Psychiatry, Section of Women’s Mental Health in Roanoke, Virginia are searching for a board-certified or board-eligible Outpatient Psychiatrist with specialized experience in Women’s Mental Health to join our dynamic behavioral health team. This role is ideal for a clinician passionate about providing evidence-based, culturally competent mental health care tailored to the unique needs of women across the lifespan—from adolescence to post-menopause.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy (as applicable) to female-identifying patients with a focus on:
  • Perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders including substance use disorders
  • PMDD and hormonal-related mood disturbances
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Eating disorders and body image concerns
  • Menopause-related psychiatric issues
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs, primary care providers, social workers, and therapists to provide integrated, patient-centered care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and contribute to the development of individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Offer consultation and education to staff and community partners regarding women’s mental health best practices.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, including training in gender-informed and trauma-informed care
  
  

1-3 years of previous experience in women's mental health preferred

Opportunity to participate in newly formed perinatal consultation line offering real time clinical consultation to Virginia prescribers who provide care to pregnant and postpartum individuals and/or their children.
