Description
We are currently looking for a Full Time Psychologist to join our Strong Family Development division in the Department of Family Services.
Summary:
Responsible for delivering psychological evaluative services for patients in our Department of Family Services and and other entities within the Chickasaw Nation, including defendants when required by the Chickasaw Nation Tribal Courts.
Responsibilities:
- Performs psychological mental health evaluations as needed in consultation with Department of Family Services and other entities within the Chickasaw Nation
- May perform competency to stand trial evaluations for defendants in Chickasaw Nation Tribal Court, as needed
- May perform certain evaluations for Chickasaw Nation employees, as needed
- Actively consults in multidisciplinary team meetings to promote effective evaluative processes and high-quality services
- Facilitates skill building groups for couples, adolescents, single-parents, fathers, employees and others as needed
- Provides therapy in clinical environments
- Provides family, marital, individual and group therapies as needed
- Participates in specialized training in family-oriented services
- Assists in formulating and implementing pre-and post-program inventories for program and/or research participants
- Performs documentation for client and/or research protocols
- Assists leadership in initiating and maintaining program referrals
- Provides consultation to Department of Family Services, Department of Health and Office of Tribal Justice staff as needed
- Maintains a level of direct service activities consistent with the department’s standards of clinical output
- Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types
- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner

- Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes - Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities

- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards - Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Requirements
Essential Competencies:
- Able to follow instructions, both written and oral
- Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements
- Must be self-motivated
- Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability
- Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations such as The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
- Must have a clear understanding of 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 2
- Knowledge and understanding of First American populations
- Must be proficient in the use of electronic health record keeping systems
- Knowledge base of mental health and substance use disorders
- Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management
Essential Skills
- Skilled in formal and informal assessment protocols
- Must be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of products
Experience:
- 1 year directly related experience (pre-doctoral internship and/or post-doctoral fellowship may satisfy this requirement)
Education:
- A doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology with coursework and/or experience in family therapy from an APA accredited program and an APA accredited internship
Credentials:
- Pass general background check
- Standard Driver's License
- Oklahoma Licensed Psychologist (or licensure candidacy)
