Description
We are seeking Full-time RBT(Registered Behavioral Technician) with the Tewksbury School District for the 2025-2026 school year.COMPENSATION & TERMS OF OPPORTUNITY
* $25-$27 per hour depending on qualifications
* This is a temporary to hire opportunity at the Heathbrook Elementary School
* 10 month school calendar: 180 school days and up to 5 professional development days
* Days and hours coincide with those of the students.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) are support personnel responsible for implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment plans, under the guidance of the school districts system-wide BCBA or behavior specialist. RBTs use ABA interventions to teach academic, communication and social skills, including implementing plans to reduce problem behaviors.
They provide ABA interventions that encourage functional replacement behaviors so students can build and improve their communication and social interactions and problem solving skills. RBT shall support crisis and training initiatives in each assigned building as directed by the Coordinator of Behavior Services and/or the Director of Student Services.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
* Must hold the RBT credential with the BACB
* Must have at least 1-3 years of experience providing ABA-based instruction
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct care to students in the classroom supported by the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) including but not limited to:
- Teaching new, functionally related behaviors to replace challenging behavior (i.e., functional communication training).
- Understand and implement discrete trial, task analysis, and incidental teaching programs and the various components including prompting/prompt fading, reinforcement, and token economy procedures.
- Implement individualized written Behavior Support Plans.
- Provide direct care in both 1:1 and group settings with the focus on promoting student independence with academic, communication, and social skills, functional living skills, functional communication training, task analysis.
- Assist BCBAs as directed with assessments, behavior support plans, and skill acquisition plans.
- Understand and be able to elaborate to families about the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and our academic and behavioral approach.
- Collaborate with BCBA and other school personnel to adjust interventions within a BSP as deemed necessary
- Collect and input daily data on academic, communication, and social skills through direct observation; as well as problem behaviors identified in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and/or Behavior Support Plan (BSP) or 504 Plan
- Provide and maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students; utilizing CPI techniques as needed

- Provide handson assistance with ADLs (activities of daily living, toileting)
- Complete tasks/assignments within established timelines
- Recognize when there is an unusual condition or situation and have the ability to seek assistance when necessary and appropriate, using sound judgment
- Adhere to safety practices, TPS policies and procedures
