Job Title: Behavioral Health Clinician I
Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Clinician I works under clinical supervision as an extension of the psychiatric provider. This role is responsible for conducting psychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, de-escalating crises, and providing trauma-informed therapy. The clinician collaborates with behavioral health teams, medical staff, and community stakeholders to support patient recovery and coordinate appropriate levels of care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Monitor patient progress and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
Deliver patient-centered, trauma-informed individual, group, and family therapy.
Serve as a primary educator on mental health topics for patients and families.
Initiate discharge planning and coordinate aftercare services with community providers.
Support psychiatric providers by gathering and presenting patient information relevant to care and disposition.
Requirements
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Human Services (Social Work, Professional Counseling, or related field) required.
Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Maryland required.
Previous experience in acute psychiatric care preferred.
Knowledge of community resources, insurance processes, and behavioral health regulations.
Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced or crisis environments.
